Google Adwords Improves on Quality Score
Written by Pablo Palatnik on August 23, 2008
In the coming days or weeks, you’ll see some changes in your adwords account as Google has announced changes in their quality score algorithm. Quality score though probably one of the most transparent (and not really) guidelines Google gives to advertisers, as some out with further improvements.
• Quality Score will now be more accurate because it will be calculated at the time of each search query
• Keywords will no longer be marked ‘inactive for search’
• ‘First page bid’ will replace ‘minimum bid’ in your account

The most siginifacnt change as explained by the Google Adwords blog is the following:

Google Blogger Hosting 2% of Worlds Malware Software
Written by Pablo Palatnik on August 8, 2008
“Hackers Inflitrate Facebook,” an article posted in USAToday explaining how some hackers are using Facebook, the worlds largest social networks, or at least one of them, points out a statistic I found very interesting. Google Blogger (Blogspot.com), is host to 2% of the worlds malware software according sophos, one of the largest computer security firms in the world. Malware, also known as Malicious Software, is software designed to infiltrate or damage a computer system.

For those of you who dont know, blogspot is Googles free blog software that is hosted by Google with millions of users that can set up a free blog in seconds completely free. You can host anything you want which is a great platform for spammers and hackers.
“…a new attack in which messages posted on the walls of Facebook users urge them to view a video which purports to be hosted on a Google website. But when the link is clicked on, the victim is directed to a website containing malicious malware.”

Pay-Per-Click: My First Google Knol
Written by Pablo Palatnik on July 29, 2008
As most of you know, Google Knol has already rolled out into what many believe will become the 2nd Wikipedia on the web. Does it have any comparisons to Mahalo? Maybe…But Google is Google and whatever they do and decide to move forward with can very well impact the search results in the coming months.

Image from ABC News
I’ve never written a Wiki on anything but decided to go ahead and give this a shot. What I find most interesting is Google actually does let you capitalize your Knol with adsense which may bring about the question if people will just start writing Knols’ for money. If so, is that ok?
I’m sure we’ll see a few disputes in the next coming months. I decided to write a knol on Pay-Per-Click, mostly for beginners or those who dont quite understand what it is or how it works. I hope its useful.

Google Offering Real-Time Stock Quotes
Written by Pablo Palatnik on June 4, 2008
Loren from SEJ just reported that Google Finance is now offering Real-Time Stock Quotes! I think that’s something impressive and really worth noting. Yahoo Finance actually charges for that service and to get real-time stock quotes, you basically have to have a brokerage account.

Google has really been competing in this financial news sector with Yahoo! Finance which is actually praised by many to be the top of the top in stock financial news.
Google Finance will offer these sectors for Real-Time quotes:
* Dow Jones Indices
* NASDAQ Indices
* NASDAQ Stock Exchange
* New York Stock Exchange Indices
* S&P Indices
* Shanghai Stock Exchange
* Shenzhen Stock Exchange
