There is a way of using Twitter to your advantage for search engine optimization. Since Google is now indexing real-time tweets and also profile pages (that has been for a while now) there is a way to capitalize this in the SERPs.
About 7 months ago, Mashable had a great post titled, “The Top 10 Twitter SEO Tips,” which I suggest you read as I will list those top 10 tips and you can get much more information there.
1. Choose a good handle
2. Select an account name wisely
3. Make your bio count
4. Spread the word
5. Remember your URL
6. Select the initial characters of each tweet carefully
7. Write keyword-rich tweets if possible
8. Mind your retweetability
9. Provide some link love
10. As always, give ‘em what they want
