Social Media Tops Marketers List for 2010

The “2010 Digital Marketing Outlook” report found that 81% of the brand executives surveyed expected an increase in digital projects in 2010, and one-half will be moving dollars from traditional to digital budgets. Further, more than three-quarters think the current economy will push more allocations to digital,” reports eMarketer.com.
If you ask me, as paid search and seo remain of great importance to online marketers, social media is steadily increasing in importance and priority for business owners. Branding and awareness seem to be what is most important.

As you see in the image above, social media does top the list of priorities for senior marketers. Search Engine Optimization comes in third place, mobile in fourth, and blogging in fifth. All the methods in this list are ALMOST equally important or all companies should be engaged in some form of marketing through all those channels. Personally, I see, still, as SEO, blogging, and email marketing as top priorities and developing new methods using those channels.
