10 Business Mistakes To Avoid

January 11, 2010 by Pablo Palatnik

Reading QuickSprout, a great blog for entrepreneurs, there is a great post titled, “10 Business Mistakes That Will Nearly Break You… Literally,” has great insight that I think applies to most of us. QuickSprout is authored by Neil Patel, who is an industry leader in social media, analytics, etc. I met Neil at the Elite Retreat (A ShoeMoney conference) back in 2007 in San Francisco.

Anyway, he list 10 great business mistakes that you should basically avoid, and they are as follows:

1. Stop thinking big
2. Get out of your cave
3. Money doesn’t solve problems, it causes them
4. Don’t hire too quickly
5. It’s better to have hunger than talent
6. Emotions and business are a bad mix
7. Don’t get ahead of yourself
8. Focus, focus, and focus
9. You’re not that smart
10. No detail is unimportant

Neil goes into each one of these factors into detail and its DEFINITELY worth the read.
