How To Protect Your FaceBook Privacy from Search Engines
December 15, 2009 by Pablo Palatnik
Facebook tends to change it privacy settings every 3 months or so. Without you knowing, or with a small message on the top of your Facebook home page, you will see a note saying there have been privacy changes to your Facebook settings.
The lattest one that you may want to know about and protect yourself from is how the search engines such as Google index your profiles information such as pictures, etc. How do you protect yourself from the search engines and keep privacy from them indexing stuff from your profile?

To turn off Facebook indexing Google, simply go to settings > privacy > search. You’ll then see a box, which you should unclick. This should sort the problem out, but it might be worth going through your privacy options carefully, to see what other information is accessible to others.

thanks! this is a great tip! especially for business recruiters who search future employees in the search engine… this can cost people their job.
