Amazon & Zappos: A Marriage Made in e-Commerce Heaven

Who would’ve thought? This one personally caught me by surprise and I think its a huge move when it comes to the world of e-commerce. Amazon and Zappos are now the same company, wow.
I’m looking at several news sources and they all pretty much have different numbers, the only constant is an $850 million dollar figure.
Tony Hsieh writes in a letter to employees, “We plan to continue to run Zappos the way we have always run Zappos — continuing to do what we believe is best for our brand, our culture, and our business. From a practical point of view, it will be as if we are switching out our current shareholders and board of directors for a new one, even though the technical legal structure may be different.”
