If you’re an SEO or talk to SEOs , you may just always hear different theories on the factors that really matter, and when we talk about SEO, I think 95% of the time, we’re all talking about optimizing to rank in Google, the others will follow.
Here is a video from WebProNews with Rand Fishkin from SEOmoz that is a great look into the SEO factors that really matter.

Rand covers some great tips on how to find the key factors that make a big difference in ranking on Google and other search engines. Many small business and law firm websites put too much focus on the wrong factors like keyword density ion their webpages and don’t understand how to effectively participate in social networks like twitter and facebook. Our experience show most businesses have even less awareness of best practices for local SEO in Bing, Yahoo, and Google Maps. The continued popularity of GPS enhanced location aware smart phones like the IPhone 3 G s, Balckberry, Android, Pre, and Windows smartphones increases the number and frequency of searches for local businesses. If you don’t use Local SEO to enhance your visibility in Local search you are missing lots of eager customers ready to spend money who don’t find your business when they look online. Thanks for sharing the video.
