Are You Advertising on Myspace PPC Platform?

April 14, 2009 by Pablo Palatnik

I was on the Digital Forums thread, “Myspace PPC” and thought I’d share what some users are saying as all online marketers are always trying new outlets, and if you’re not, you should (try new outlets).

“Yes facebook is a lot better. How ever they have stirct editorial department.”

“MySpace Advertising is terrible, its pure garbage. I was talking to the “techs” and trying to solve some issues with there stats, seems like they are still in beta. I wouldn’t recommend this or FaceBook ads(not that great either).”

“Facebook is better but as already been said they are very strict on their ads structure and stuff. You have to follow their rules or your ad will be dropped.”

“I don’t know how well Myspace’s PPC program is working, but I would say that as far as direct marketing to specific demographics, Myspace is pretty hard to beat.”

“MySpace will take your money in a flash if you are not careful, same with Facebook, better places to spend your money.”

“Ok I did few test runs on myspace. While facebook converted better myspace wasn’t that bad as far as the ROI is concerned. I agree they are still beta and lots of bugs. They have a 0.25 CPC minimum and $25 minimum budget.

There is lot of room for improvement. So I will wait for a while before giving it a shot again. With social networks its all about the demographics. remember people are not searching for what you are selling. These are impluse buys.

So target your products accordingly. You can’t compare myspace or facebook to google or YSM. they are totally different types of marketing. Pick up offers that people may sign up or by without thinking twice, myspace will convert better for you. During this test I made $2 on every 0.50 cent I spent. So its all about what you are promoting.”
