Valentines is basically here and holidays are always a great chance to market for specific dates and events. Doesn’t matter if you have the same sale on your website all year around, market it to that specific holiday! It’s just MARKETING and thats the way it is.
V-day is a day like most holidays, people scour the internet for good deals and to shop. This is actually almost a MUST BUY GIFT day, who wants to go home empty handed to their significant other on valentines day!
The Google Retail blog has some good tips for you to optimize your campaign and see what tweaks you can make it to get that CTR up and even some keywords you can add:
· Target key age and gender demographics with unique Valentine’s Day ad texts, keywords & landing pages
· Launch your campaigns early to meet increased search traffic by mid-January and don’t forget the last minute shoppers.
· Add both branded & non-branded keywords.
· Use Google insights for search to investigate your own product categories to see what searchers are interested in
· Expand keyword lists using the Search-Based Keyword Tool
· Use the Google Content Network to reach your target demographic and complement your search campaigns
· Consider placing your Content ads on complementary sites; remember to target gifts for women on men’s sites and vice versa
