Googles Adwords Now Displaying Search Metrics for Search Partners – Better Conversions?

October 21, 2008 by Pablo Palatnik

For those of you who follow the Google Adwords blog, you’ve already heard that Google has now made available a seperate metrics in the Adwords platform where they show you how many clicks, CTR, conversions, etc…, your keywords are showing in the the search partner network.

Google Search Network

Some of Googles search partners include Ask.com, AOL, Miva and many other big sites. Your campaigns are automatically put in the partner network when you launch a campaign in Adwords. You will have the option to view the broken down metrics of your campaign by loging in to Adwords, as you will see an example in this post by Search Engine Roundtable.

To my surprise, carefully looking at this metric, I’ve noticed the amount of clicks from Google and the Search Network has almost been even and MORE OF A SURPRISE, the search network is showing higher conversion rates than Google.

The next step for Google to make this work better for advertisers and provide more of the information we need to builder more successful campaigns is show us seperate metrics to measure clicks in each of the search networks. I’d love to see how many clicks Ask is bringing, conversions, same with AOL, etc. I think thats the logical next step and really looking forward to something like that.

If you have opted out of the search network, I really suggest you opt-in now that you can follow its metrics.

I’d also like to see different bidding for search network as you can with the Google content network.
