Google Pushing Display Advertising to Adwords Advertisers
October 17, 2008 by Pablo Palatnik
It’s no surprise that with its aqcusition of DoubleClick, Google has always had its eye on the display advertising space to expand its advertising business. If you are an adwords advertiser, you will see Google will prompt to ask or show you how to create an easy banner for your campaigns.

It’s also no surprise that today, Google announced it has appointed DoubleClicks former CEO David Rosenblatt, as president for global display advertising, which is a new position created by Google.
Giving this option to advertisers such as myself who haven’t dove into the display advertising space (I have for certain clients,) will boost their adwords revenue. Exceeding Q3 expectations just yesterday, its time to make another push for this “product” which will serve advertisers.
Display advertising is know to most advertisers as being priced on a CPM basis (Cost-Per-Thousand impressions) which is the business models for companies such as Advertising.com (an AOL company) unless they do PPC (Pay-Per-Click) now.
It wasn’t too long ago when Google only charged on a CPM basis to advertise on its content network and now you can choose to pay per click on its content network.
The same now applies with this display advertising platform which you can find as part of its content advertising network in Adwords. You can pay per click and create banners of all sizes for your business. As like every ad you put up, you can check your CTRs (Click-Through-Rates) and see what banners are having good CTRs, converting, etc.
I’m excited to see what results I personally have with it as well as other advertisers. I think its a great push by Google.
