I’m sure ALL OF YOU (I hope) have been watching the 2008 presidential debates. I’m sure you’ve noticed the commercials by Boone Pickens promoting his website PickensPlan.com which is a website talking about our dependance on foreign oil and what we can and should do as a nation to engage in talks about the future of our nations energy.
As this is one of the biggest issues that concerns every American, Boone did something on the site I thought was genius, especially in this web 2.0 world where one of the best ways to engage users is make them part of a community (Facebook, Digg, etc.). The PickensPlan.com is forming a community for Americans to engage in talks about energy and engage in talks, ideas and more.
It’s great to see a social media based platform put to use for something as important as this issue and we will see many more communities forming online to engage in talks about issues such as health care, foreign policy, climate change, and much more.
