If You Don’t Like Online Marketing, QUIT!
September 30, 2008 by Pablo Palatnik
I could write about this issue all day long because I strongly believe it is the one key component that will make you successful at what you do and that is LOVE WHAT YOU DO. Some of you may have seen this video going around of Gary Vaynerchuk’s keynote speech in Web 2.0 Expo in New York.
This speech is DEAD ON, I couldn’t think of anything better to tell people to get the point across that if you do what you love, you’ll “kill it”, at least you’ll be as happy as you could be.
I started in the online industry about 8 years ago getting into the ecommerce/auction site arena but it really wasnt about almost 3 years ago when I decided this is what I really love to do and would make a career out of it. It wasn’t until I fell in love with the industry and started reading every blog out there, trying everything I wanted to try that I started doing well. Now, after a lot of hard work, I have a growing successful business, a growing blog in the industry and so many things coming my way.
So, if you’re in the online marketing industry and its not really what you love to do (or any other industry or job, career, etc.) then QUIT! VERY few people are successful at what they do without really loving it or having a passion for it, and if they are successful, are they truly happy? This is one of the industries that if you really want to be successful, there will be a long time of trial-and-error period where you must keep pounding at it. You need a lot of patience, creativity (in cluttered niches), and a lot of research.
Doing what you love and making money is a blessing, maybe a luxury, but its not what you can do, its what you MUST do. I think the video pretty much says it all.

Great speech! Gary is a great example to many and of course the content is right on like you said. You have to do what you love, no question.
