If you’re in e-Commerce, one thing you always need and probably want to do is your research on your competitors, but also its very important to look at your non-competitors and what they are doing to reach the level you want to be at.
One thing I did about 1 to 2 months ago to try and increase conversion rates is look at sites around the web which 1) I liked and 2) were raved by being great sites and having good conversion rates.
MarketingCharts reports on the top online retail sites by their conversion rates.
This is the first time I hear of L.L. Bean and Blair.com, and also the Childrens Place. If you look at their site structure, etc, you can get ideas of what you may want to change on your website to try and increase your conversion rate.
Also, you have a spy keyword tool, you may want to see how many keywords they bid on, how they rank organically. All this information moreless can lead you to try and reach their type of success.
Surprisingly, two of the top 10 sites sell flowers, so if you have a flowers site, you can gather ideas from both and put them into place.
Subscribe to PalatnikFactor.com and your conversion rates will increase by 90%! =)
