PabloDamus Predicts Google TV. YouTube Coming To A Plasma Near You.

Written by Pablo Palatnik on January 9, 2008

It was Aug. 10, 2007 when I made a blog post about Google TV. This was a post I made based on the idea I had about Google making its own TV and how it would monetize channels. Today it came true in a sense. Forbes reports (amongst many others,) Google will launch Google TV.

Google has partnered with Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., the world largest plasma manufacturer. “Google and YouTube will provide Matsushita with special servers for transmitting high-quality images for large-screen TVs. The latest Matsushita Net-enabled TVs will allow users to click into the YouTube and Picasa Web sites by pressing a button on the remote control,” reports Forbes.

Here is the kicker. You can bet and predict on almost anything that Google will either make its own or have share in any space that allows for advertising to take place.

Prime Search Hours: When To Up-Bid Your PPC Competition

Written by Pablo Palatnik on January 8, 2008

One of the key components of running a PPC campaign (for bidding purposes) is knowing when your target audience is searching the web. Granted, the web is the one place that is open 24/7 with millions and millions of people jumping around from website to website so a lead/sale can come at anytime.

If you notice in the engines, your competitors switch positions due to CTRs but also bids during certain times. There are competitors that know exactly when they want to be on top and others just always stick to their positions.

One way you can find out when you may want to up-bid your keywords is through Google Trends. Let’s say you have a website that sells college football t-shirts. Tonight, Ohio State played and if you think about it, you’ll have people searching for buckeyes info and gear.

Keyword: ohio state football roster
Time: 11:06pm
Hotness: Spicy

Make Money From American Gladiators

Written by Pablo Palatnik on January 7, 2008

My first videocast using Revver. If you follow my blog, one of the things I love to do is see things offline that can be turned into good opportunities online. It was the world premier of American Gladiators last night and its your chance to actually make money with this.

Watch Below:

There is only one ad in Google right now for American Gladiators which is great unless Google has it as a trademarked term. Yahoo also only displays one ad and MSN displays 0 ads, for now.

If you look at Google Trends, look at the chart below at the increase of search volume:

Video Segmentation on The Rise

Written by Pablo Palatnik on January 7, 2008

YouTube is the main source of video distribution and video plays on the net. You can find anything from home-made clips to scenes from movies, news, and basically anything you can think of to watch is on YouTube.

The video space is part of what is social media because of its interaction but also because many videos and as technology advances and gets easier to use, more and more people will make video for the web. But what happens when you go to YouTube? YouTube is basically the largest search engine for video on the web so you have to search for what you are looking for. Like many search engines that are coming out as well as many social networks, we will begin to see the video space be segment by category.

Let me give you an example. GodTube, reported by ComScore, was named the fastest growing U.S. website in its first month of launch. GodTube, as you can guess by the name is a video site to watch videos on religion. What a great idea to segment this space out (the religious space) to have its own site.
