The Life of an Online Marketer [Pic]
Written by Pablo Palatnik on December 7, 2007
Someone asked me, “What’s the life of an online marketer like?†I mean, if you work for yourself in terms of either doing affiliate marketing or have some clients, you can make your own hours, work from home, etc.
But if I had to put it into a picture, here it is:

The world of the online marketer is a roller coaster ride, period. It’s the best way I can describe it. Some days you feel where things are on the up and up finding new sources of traffic and revenue where in 2 weeks you see yourself making millions, the next day, literally, things can collapse and go downhill faster then you can say “abushartamingerskan.â€
Organic algorithm changes…quality score implemantations…affiliate pixels not firing…landing page not converting…AAAHHH!
If you’re in this for the long haul…get ready for countless hours of research on your methods. Get ready to try everything and anything in the book. Get ready to lose money. Get ready to make some money. Be ready to shout “halleluiah.†Be ready to shout “I hate this %((*†Get ready to think you’re one of the smartest online marketers out there and do a back flip or two. Be ready for your downfall and think you really didn’t know anything. Prepare yourself to start talking at conferences giving your advice and tactics. Get ready to spend some money to attend conference sessions because you’re strategies are hurting and you need to listen to the real pros.
I can continue my rant but I’ll end mine with this…if you love what you do (like anything else) and most online marketers do love this gig, don’t give up…the next source of traffic…the next source of revenue is only a thought ahead.

ROFL. Disappointingly true!

Love the image. Not only is it a roller coaster with ups and downs, but you’ve got all those twists and turns and even a bit of upside-down thrown in for good measure. All true. And while it can be frustrating and confusing it’s also part of the fun and excitement. At least when I’m in a good mood!
