SEO Brains in Progress - Black and White

In what’s evolving into something of a collaborative effort, Pablo Palatnik on Palatnikfactor blog has started out with a mindmap analyzing the typical brains of a white hat and a black hat SEO. Good fun stuff.

@Nick: Expectably, I'll second that (including the wh brain activity bit). :)

@Andy: Spot on, as usual.

Maybe we could add that Matt Cutts picture in the black hat brain, too - with a bull's eye overlay. (Nothing personal, heh...)

Hmm white hats have much less going on in their brains ;)

Seriously though, I'd agree with Ralph about the link buying. I even saw someone called themselves a white-hat link buyer the other day, as they always get them from relevant sites. There's a load of confusion about that topic (not helped by Google) and most people are smart enough to understand that money comes into the process in one form or another.

Make-an-SEO-Brain as work-in-progress? Great idea!

Some further suggestions:

WH Brain: Dominant factor (maybe in red?) - ETHICS
BH Brain: Dominant factor - AUTOMATION

More BH brain stuff: 'Hidden text' is out - suggest replacing with 'Trackback spam'
'Doorway pages' are out, too - suggest replacing with 'XSS exploits'

WH Brain: 'Link Buying?' - with question mark
BH Brain: 'Link Buying!' - with exclamation mark

Just a few thoughts. Keep it up! :)

fixed ftw! ;)

Also, with the blackhat brain I would put "speed" in there. from what i have seen time and speed is almost always a factor with blackhat techniques
