Gas Prices Fueling Online Traffic- A Direct Link

As an Internet marketer, not only do you look for opportunities & changes online, but you have to look offline as well. I was just out of the country for 10 days and as I was in the taxi on the way back from the airport, I took a quick glance at the gas prices which I heard were on the rise. $3.19 for the most standard gas, wow!

About 2-3 weeks ago or so, 60 minutes had a special report on the rising fuel prices in the United States and how it would start affecting the daily life of Americans. Most said due to rising fuel prices, they would have to cut back on vacations, mostly traveling far distances or by car/air, with higher airfare prices, as well as a cut-back in budget for their travel overall by spending more and more money in fuel every month.

So, what does this mean? Driving is a commodity which will decrease for many due to this increase in gas price. The internet is the ONLY place most Americans have easy access from their home to shop for most of their needs. Higher gas prices also comes with higher shipping prices as we’ve seen the price of U.S. stamps go up a few times, which could have an affect with etail websites.

Gas price websites are seeing the most traffic increase from this. Two sites that have been getting attention and growing popularity are GasPriceWatch.com and GasBuddy.com.
