With the ever-growing industry of the online advertising world, the Seattle Times reports MSN hopes to grab a bigger piece of the pie, and soon. Competing against Google and Yahoo seems to be a game of catch-up that yet hasn’t seen the light of day at Microsoft but progress is on the horizon.
MSN says it’s not so much the problem of having a better interface for advertisers which was just upgraded, but generating the traffic that is taken by Google followed by Yahoo.
Despite its struggle to maintain its market share, MSN adcenter had ad revenue jump 23 percent in Q1, up 11% last year reports ClickZ. Why do marketers keep on giving Adcenter a shot and keep investing time and money? One, it does generate a significant level of traffic and two, adcenter provides advertisers with a great ROI since the cost of keywords is not as competitive as Google & Yahoo.
